As global financial markets become ever more integrated, both opportunities and risks are increasing. While this integration opens the door to new products, the regulations introduced particularly after the 2008 crisis indicated that confidence in and demand for financial products were rising in a sound manner. Derivative products, used intensively by individual investors, institutions, speculators and investors seeking to hedge their risk alike, today cover hundreds of different underlying assets and offer the opportunity to trade on the desired terms. This makes derivatives markets the largest trading markets in the world. This training aims to provide a solid grounding in how derivative products emerged, which needs they have met over time, the nature of derivatives markets, and the types of derivative products and their operating mechanisms. It also covers the trading screens used in Bloomberg Professional and other systems during the training, so that participants gain not only theoretical knowledge but also an understanding of how the markets work.
