Who Can Apply for Erasmus+ Student Study Mobility with Partner Countries?

Mobility may be carried out at the full-time PhD level of the relevant department. Under the programme rules, undergraduate and master's students may not apply to the Malaysia project.

How to Apply

Application

Applications will be accepted online only. No documents will be submitted to the Erasmus Office. Applications of students who do not upload an electronically signed transcript will be rejected.

How to Apply?

Applications must be submitted through the Erasmus application portal at https://erasmusbasvuru.ua.gov.tr/giris by selecting the relevant call published by our University in the announcements section.

We would also like to point out that if you experience any problems with your application, you should send an explanation of the issue along with a screenshot to erasmus@izu.edu.tr.

Application Requirements

Documents Required for Application

  • Documents certifying that the applicant is a relative of a martyr or veteran, has a disability, or is subject to a protection, care or shelter decision under Social Services Law No. 2828 must be uploaded to the online application system, if available. (The originals of these documents must subsequently be presented to the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office.)
  • An electronically signed transcript showing the student's cumulative grade point average, obtained from the Department of Student Affairs, must be uploaded during the application.
  • If a language proficiency certificate is available, the relevant exam result document must be uploaded.
  • Students who intend to take the Erasmus Language Proficiency Exam must indicate this in the system by selecting the option “I would like to take the University Erasmus Language Proficiency Exam”.
  • Students who wish to apply with a B2 preparatory school completion grade must upload a transcript showing their B2 preparatory school completion score to the system.
  • Students who have previously taken the Erasmus Language Proficiency Exam must apply with an Individual Exam Result document obtained from our Foreign Languages Coordination Office.

Points to Consider When Applying

1-Please contact the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office regarding any problems that may arise during the application. (For contact, an e-mail should be sent to erasmus@izu.edu.tr.)

Students who do not wish to take the Language Exam;

• If a Language Exam Result Certificate is available, the exam result documents must be uploaded to the system. (YDS and YOK Language certificates will be evaluated subject to a five-year validity requirement. Other language proficiency certificates are valid for two years. When uploading the relevant language certificates to the system, they must be uploaded so that the verification codes are visible. Candidates without a language exam certificate must select the option "I want to take the Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam."

• Students wishing to apply with their IZU Preparatory School Completion Grade must correctly enter their preparatory school completion grade at "B2" level into the system and upload a currently dated electronically signed transcript showing the preparatory school completion grade at "B2" level. A "C1" Preparatory School Completion grade will not be accepted.

2-A currently dated electronically signed transcript must be requested from the Student Affairs Office and uploaded to the application system as a PDF.

Minimum Requirements

In order to take part in the activity, students must first meet the following minimum requirements

  • Being a student at the PhD level
  • Being a full-time student (having the obligation to take 30 ECTS of courses / to complete a thesis)
  • Having a cumulative academic grade point average of at least 2.50/4.00,
  • Documentation of English proficiency at B2 level,
  • Within the current level of study, if the student has already benefited from higher education mobility activities during the Erasmus+ and Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) periods, the total duration including the new activity must not exceed 12 months.

Selection Criteria

The evaluation criteria and weighted scores used in assessing mobility applications are as follows:

*Priority is given to combat veterans and their spouses and children, as well as the spouses and children of war martyrs; the spouses and children of "public officials who, while performing their duties at home or abroad, or even after their status has ended, have been wounded, disabled, died or been killed as a result of acts of terrorism because of the performance of those duties" pursuant to Article 21 of the Anti-Terror Law No. 3713 dated 12/4/1991; and, pursuant to Article 7 of Decree Law No. 667 dated 23 July 2016, the spouses and children of those who lost their lives as a result of the coup attempt and terrorist act carried out on 15 July 2016 and the acts that followed it, as well as civilians who were disabled and their spouses and children, when they apply for Erasmus+ student mobility.

**For prioritisation, the student must present a letter from the Ministry of Family and Social Policies stating that a protection, care or shelter decision has been taken in respect of them under Law No. 2828.

***The application of "-10 points" for previous participation does not apply to mobilities carried out at a previous study cycle or to mobilities other than higher education student/traineeship mobility. It applies where a student who has already carried out a mobility applies again within the same study cycle.

Erasmus+ Mobility with Grant Option

Under the Erasmus+ Programme, selected students may receive an Erasmus+ grant to cover their living expenses during the mobility period. The Erasmus+ grant is a contribution and may not cover 100% of the expenses incurred before and during the mobility (such as visa, accommodation, flight tickets and living expenses). In such cases, the student must cover the remaining amount themselves.

Erasmus+ Mobility without Grant Option

Students may exercise this right either by selecting the "I can participate without a grant" option on the online form during the application or by notifying the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office after the results are announced. Whether selected with or without a grant, Erasmus+ students do not pay tuition, registration and examination fees or library usage fees to the university they attend.

Additional Grant Opportunity for Participants with Special Needs
