Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide a basic understanding of media and communication that affect every aspect of our lives.


 

Course Content

In this course; definition of media and communication, history, theories, tools, political, social, cultural and psychological aspects, and current issues in this area will be introduced. These issues will be given to current examples from the world and Turkey.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. To have a basic knowledge about media and communication
  2. To have a sound understanding of the history, tools, processes, actors, political and cultural framework of media and communication
  3. To gain the ability to analyze the background of the media messages that have imposed and to correspond with the invisible effects of communication
  4. Be sensitive to information pollution and illusions caused by media
