Course Objective

To provide the knowledge and skills to use the basic knowledge acquired regarding leadership skills in applications in the field of sports.

Course Content

This course; Definition of Leadership, History, Basic Components, Examination of Management and Entrepreneurship Concepts and Similarities and Differences, Leadership Ability, Role and Characteristics, Philosophical Examination of Leadership Behavior, Leadership Psychology, Assessment of Leadership in Terms of Sports Sciences and Management, Approaches to Leadership, Classical Leadership Approaches: Behavioral Approach, Classical Leadership Approaches: Trait Approach, Classical Leadership Approaches: Contingency Approach, Modern Leadership Approaches: Leader-Member Exchange Theory, Charismatic Leadership; Student presentations, Modern Leadership Approaches: Transformational Leadership, Strategic Leadership; Student presentations, Modern Leadership Approaches: Servant Leadership, Service Leadership, Authentic Leadership; Student presentations, Sports-Oriented Interactional Approaches to Leadership, Coaching and Mentoring, Coaching and Leadership; includes the topics.
