Course Objective
The purpose of this course is to teach students the basic techniques, rules and training principles of weightlifting; to ensure the development of strength, power and technique; and to ensure safe training by preventing injuries.
Course Content
The history of weightlifting, athlete health and safety, basic lifting techniques (snatch, clean & jerk), movement analysis, strength and flexibility exercises, training programming and competition rules are covered.
