Course Objective

The aim of lesson; To provide students with the knowledge to examine the effects of exercise on all physiological systems.

Course Content

Lesson; Basic concepts of physiology, cell, tissue, energy metabolism, aerobic and anaerobic energy systems, anaerobic glycolysis and regeneration of ATP, energy consumption, oxygen uptake and deficiency, lactic acid threshold, sports branches and energy use, recovery after exercise, motor unit types, muscle structure, myofibril and fibrillar muscle movements, skeletal muscle and movement, muscle contraction types and relationship between exercise, muscle hypertrophy, proporeceptors, neuromuscular adaptations to training and physiological systems.

  1. Explain the basic concepts, meaning and importance of exercise physiology.
  2. Explain the relationship between aerobic and anaerobic energy systems.
  3. Calculates work, power and energy expenditure.
  4. Demonstrates exercise practices that exemplify muscle contraction types.
  5. Explains the response and adaptation of physiological systems by examining the effects of exercise on physiological systems.
  6. Explains the recovery process after exercise.
