Course Objective

The aim of this course is to give students; To teach the history of volleyball, field and equipment knowledge, basic game rules, mini and midi volleyball game rules, and
Ball familiarization exercises, educational games and basic techniques (cuff, finger pass, serve, planjön, dunk, block) for athletes who are new to volleyball.

Course Content

Volleyball game rules, mini and midi volleyball game rules - field and equipment information, history of volleyball, volleyball-specific educational games, exercises for getting used to the volleyball ball, basic stances and sliding steps, basic techniques (finger pass - forward, sideways, jumping, backwards; cuff pass - forward, backward, side; serve from below; tennis serve; planjon - somersault, twist, front to side with chest; dunk - diagonal and parallel area; serve - diagonal and parallel area; dunk serve, block - single, double, triple ; planjon – somersault, twist, forward and side with chest).

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Being able to tell the history of volleyball; To have knowledge of the field and equipment, to be able to express the basic game rules of volleyball; Understanding midi, mini and volleyball game rules and training drills
  2. Ability to prepare and implement educational games for volleyball beginners; To be able to prepare and practice the ball familiarization exercises, basic stances and sliding steps for volleyball beginners;
  3. Ability to learn volleyball game rules - team formation and game order, game movements - and interpret them during the match.
