Course Objective
Understands the importance of traditional Turkish sports and their place in culture.
Course Content
Related terms and concepts of traditional Turkish sports; importance; contributions to the individual, society and country's economy; Historical development of traditional Turkish sports (Huns, Göktürks, Uyghurs, Seljuks, Principalities and Ottoman Period); Ahi Order and Guild Organization; Institutions and organizations related to Turkish arts in the Republican period; Classification, education, production and marketing of traditional arts according to raw materials and production techniques.
