Course Objective

The aim of this course is to inform graduate students about the Nature and Methodology of Social Science Research and gain the ability to conduct research independently.

Course Content

Social research involves the process of understanding, defining and providing solutions for social problems which also determine the methodological way to be followed. Research methods include both the identification of the problem and choosing proper methods and techniques in a scientific way. In this course, students will be informed about the nature of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies through which social problems can be studied. In this course contents, the students will also learn about research design, sampling, qualitities of a researcher, questionnaire development, topic selection, hypothesis formation, style of doing literature review etc.
