Course Objective

This course aims to explain the transformation of bureaucracy in the modernization of Ottoman Empire and modern Turkish history and it wants to elucidate the role bureaucracy played in politics.

The course examines transformation of bureaucracy and its impact on politics in the Ottoman modernization and modern Turkish history.
