Course Objective
This course aims to explore and analyse some of the most salient and pressing issues and crises in contemporary European Union governance.
Course Content
This course focuses on contemporary issues and crises the EU is dealing with. It looks at and discusses key political, economic, social, institutional and geopolitical crises and issues and related controversies in European integration and EU governance.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Critically analyse the impact of the current issues and crisis for the future of European integration
- Relate the contemporary issues in EU governance with Turkey’s EU integration process
- Identify the role and impact of relevant EU actors and institutions in dealing with contemporary issues and challenges in EU governance
- Demonstrate the ability to articulate ideas to others in a clear and concise manner both orally and in a written format
- Understand and analyse key contemporary issues and crises influencing EU integration and governance.
