Course Objective
This course critically examines political theory in the context of politics by identifying the questions that political theorists have attempted to answer.
Course Content
In this course, the principal ideas in contemporary political life and the contested nature of political concepts will be studied. This course tackles some of the main concepts of political theory as they have developed in contemporary thought and the debates which surround them. These concepts include state, liberty, equality, democracy, and power.

- Learning the difference between political theory, political philosophy and political science
- Learning the mainstream political paradigms
- Learning about man, society and state as the main issues of political theory
- Understanding ongoing events in the world within the framework of political theory
