Course Objective
It is to learn how to solve the problems of non-western societies within the framework of the general determinations of the Sociology of Religion, which emerged in the West and spread to other countries of the world.
Course Content
The philosophical, social and cultural conditions in which the Sociology of Religion was born, the conditions of the Islamic World in the same period, whether some concepts of the sociology of religion (religion, morality, nation, modernization, civilization, culture, etc.) are valid for all societies, Islamic Sociology, Turkish Sociology Approaches, Criticisms against Sociological Schools, Religion and Social Institutions (Religion-Family, Religion-State-Politics, Religion-Morality, Religion-Economy, Religion-Law, etc.) relations.

Course Learning Outcomes
- At the end of the semester, the student will learn and comprehend the main issues of the sociology of religion.
- Students will realize that sociological schools only offer solutions to the problems of the society in which they were born.
- The student will acquire the knowledge and notion that sociological schools need new methodologies, interpretations and explanations, and will be able to take a sociological attitude accordingly.
