İEF 651 - Applied Panel Data and Horizontal Cross Section Econometrics

Graduate Education Institute · Islamic Economics and Finance · Doctorate

ECTS: 6 T+P+L: 3+0+0 Departmental Elective

Course Objective

Cross-section data has different statistical problems according to time series and modeling and parameter estimation techniques developed to solve these problems. In this course, these models and estimation techniques will be examined both theoretically and practically. In panel data, cross-section and time series are activated at the same time. Therefore, the models related to these data carry the problems of both cross-section and time-series models at the same time. Although it is a rich data source, panel data analysis, which has technical difficulties, will be covered in this course.

Course Content

Advantages of Using Cross-Section and Panel Data, Covariance Analysis, One-Way Error Component Regression Models, Fixed and Random Effect Models, Two-Way Error Component Regression Models, Fixed and Random Effect Models, Hypothesis Tests in Panel Data Models, Variable Variance and Autocorrelation Problems, Apparent Unrelated Regression Models, Dynamic Panel Data Models, Unbalanced, Panel Data Models, Variable Coefficient Models, Discrete Data, Synonym Equation Models and Applications.
