Topics include definition, history, approaches and strategies of epidemiology, Health and disease criteria, Demographic criteria, Classification of diseases and deaths, Standardization techniques of the incidence of diseases, Epidemiological research methods, Basic components of infectious diseases, Protection of healthy persons, Protection for a resource.
Course Learning Outcomes
- To be able to explain basic epidemiological concepts
- To be able to realize the importance of epidemiology in the planning of health services
- Calculate incidence and prevalence rates of diseases that are important for public health.
- Interprets epidemiological rates and rates
- Know and analyze epidemiological research methods
