Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide the students with the basic concepts and principles of economics. In general, basic market structures, law of supply and demand, consumer behavior with the help of consumption function, firm behavior in the product market and where and how the profit maximization of producers will occur, the basic microeconomics issues faced by market economies such as production process and input markets will be gained.

Course Content

This course is an introduction to the basic principles of microeconomics that analyzes the behavior and decisions of each unit of economics (households, firms and the state). The course covers the basic concepts of economics, market economy, supply, demand and price formation, flexibility and price control of the state, consumption theory, production and cost structure, market types and structures, factor markets and income distribution.
