Course Objective

This course is aimed to help students begin thinking about specific approaches to treating a variety of clients and learning various psychotherapy theories.

Course Content

This course provides an overview of the major theoretical approaches to conducting psychotherapy. This course is aimed to help students begin thinking about specific approaches to treating a variety of clients. A variety of treatment approaches, theories, and therapeutic applications will be discussed (Psychodynamic, Client centered, Gestalt Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, Reality Therapy Cognitive behavioral and others).Although this course provides knowledge about applied procedures, it is a primarily theory course.

Explanations

For this course, there will be a written exam on the topics covered for 14 weeks.

  1. Discuss various counseling theories with case and examples.
  2. Consulting principles and techniques are applied according to different situations
  3. Using counseling principles and techniques, it develops awareness and sensitivity in society about the different needs of people.
  4. Counseling responds to social and emotional events using principles and techniques.
  5. Discuss current events related to consulting principles and techniques
  6. Understand basic work and turning points in counseling
  7. Explain the basic concepts, principles, techniques, view of human nature and consultation process.
