Course Objective
In this course, concepts of landscape design and park design and functions of these arrangements and designs in urban life will be processed. Basic information about soil ecology which is required when designing a green area will be given. Current examples of landscape design and park design approaches will be shown. It will tell you which of the most important park elements and natural plants are used in urban area regulation. Information will be given on the development of the park architecture from the date to the present day. At the end of the course, it is aimed to discover that the concept of landscape design is a product of nature and culture. The concept that landscape design is part of urbanization will be tried to be explained during the course. It will also focus on the role of green spaces in urban settlements. At the end of the course, the application of concepts learned with a field study will be made.
Course Content
Green Areas in Urban and Metropolis Levels, Design Principles and Practices, Definition of Urban Public Space, Squares and Pedestrian Zones, Urban Green Area Classification, Elementary School, Neighborhood Unit, Neighborhood Unit planning and design principles and applications, definition of urban landscape, its scope, formation and historical process, urban landscape elements, urban landscape analysis, external and internal landscape concepts, urban landscape, urban form and urban identity relations.

- To be able to recognize current urban landscape studies and to be able to analyze them through urban parks
