Course Objective
To gain experience in reading and understanding the selected hadiths from the original texts in the Sahih of Bukhari and Muslim and the Sunan of Abu Dawud.
Course Content
In this course, hadiths are examined in terms of isnad and text, based on Bukhari's Kitâbu Bed'il-vahiy and Kitâbü't-tevhîd, Müslim's Kitâbü'z-zuhd and Ebû Dâvûd's Kitâbu'l-edeb.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Recognize hadith with its content and form features
- The student evaluates the works of Buhârî, Müslim and Ebû Dâvûd in terms of their transmitting features.
- Analyzes the relationship between text and sened
- Applies methods of understanding text
- Synthesizes classical and contemporary interpretations of Hadith
