Course Objective

The aim of the course is to consider the globalization process comprehensively, and to teach students how to analyze the effects of globalization on different societies and structures.

Course Content

This course focuses on the globalization process and its effects on societies economically, politically and culturally. The course will also examine the effects of the globalization process in areas such as immigration to different regional countries and inequality etc.

Required Resources

1. Articles on globalization.

2. The Sociology of Developing Societies by A. M. M. Hoogvelt. 

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will learn the main perspectives on globalization and its historical development. Students will learn the main tools for analyzing the impact of globalization on societies.
  2. To improve the style of making presentation of the students.
