Course Objective
The objectives of this course can be summarized as follows: to gain the ability to observe and explain the manifestations of social stratification, to examine sociological theories that explain social stratification, to analyze the issues of social stratification and social mobility, to address the impact of globalization on social mobility and inequality, and to examine approaches that explain the formation, development, and transformation of social stratification in Turkey.
Course Content
This course will cover fundamental concepts of stratification, classical and contemporary theories, scales of stratification, social mobility; and stratification in Turkey and current debates.
