Course Objective
The main aim of the course is to provide students with basic theoretical knowledge about statistics used in social sciences, as well as data collection in accordance with the research question and hypotheses, evaluation of the collected data with appropriate statistical analyses, interpretation, and publication of the findings.
Course Content
Within the scope of the course, calculation of measures of central dispersion and measures of central dispersion, hypothesis and research question formulation, data collection techniques, data visualisation techniques, statistical analyses used in the evaluation of the collected data and interpretation of these analyses will be discussed.

Attendence to the classes is mandatory. Students who fail to meet the attendence requirements set by the university will fail this course.

- Gains the ability to use appropriate statistical technique as a decision making tool in social problems where uncertainty is involved.
- To be able to interpret data and findings in sociological studies with statistical information
- To present, summarize and interpret the data obtained from sociological studies with appropriate tables and graphs
