Course Objective
This course aims to identify, analyse and evaluate aspects concerning various developments in the status and treatment of minorities in democratic societies
Course Content
The course will explore the main problems of the discrimination of minorities and analyse variations in state approaches to the problems of different minorities. In this course the students will gain insights into the reasons for inequalities and the main consequences of the discrimination of minorities. The course will discover the national and international mechanisms of the protection of rights of minorities and socially vulnerable groups
Course Learning Outcomes
- Students will gain insights into the many challenges involved in defining and protecting minorities
- Students will be able to identify the benefits of the protection of minorities in a democratic society
- • Students will be able to analyse the nature and character of problems connected with minorities and socially vulnerable groups in concrete circumstances
