Course Objective
The goal of the course is to introduce the main issues of development economics. What affects economic growth, inequality, and poverty? Why do some countries achieve high levels of economic development and others do not? What are the policies governments can implement to change the growth path of their countries?
Course Content
Development policies pursued by states; main approaches to development, different perspectives; development models; disagreements and conflicts appear between states and states groups regarding development.

- Comprehending factors that affect long-term economic growth and development.
- To be able to explain the fundamentals of economic development.
- To be able to explain economic concepts, theories and methods and evaluate them critically.
