Course Objective

The general aim of this course is to enable students in the social work department to learn about the school social service, which is one of the work areas of the social work profession, its scope, purpose, implementation approaches and models.

Course Content

In relation to this general purpose, the purpose, the definition and scope of school social service, the purpose and role of social workers in this professional practice, the approach and model examples adopted in implementation, the organizational framework, student problems encountered in schools, the ethical rules to be observed in interventions It is aimed to acquire information on such topics.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. He/She defines school social services.
  2. Explains the causes of student problems and intervention methods.
  3. Explains the role of social worker in school social work practice.
  4. He/She explains the scope of school social services.
  5. Explains and explains the underlying approach in school social work.
  6. Explains what social workers can do to develop political power in the school environment.
