Course Objective
The aim is to enable students to understand the nutritional requirements and nutritional status at different stages of the life cycle (pregnancy, newborn, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age) and to develop appropriate dietary recommendations for a healthy life.
Course Content
This course aims to provide an understanding of nutritional requirements and nutritional status at different stages of the life cycle. Within the course, students learn about the energy and nutrient needs during pregnancy and lactation, as well as the effects of nutrition on fetal development and milk production. They also evaluate common nutritional problems during pregnancy and lactation. Newborn and infant nutrition is addressed, including the characteristics of breast milk and formula, the transition to complementary foods, and methods for assessing growth and development.
