Course Objective

The aim is to provide knowledge and skills related to the basic principles of first aid, basic life support, first aid for injuries, first aid for fractures, dislocations and sprains, first aid in other emergencies, and transportation of injured individuals.

Course Content

This course covers the basic applications of first aid, initial and secondary assessment in adults, and basic life support in children and infants. It will also address first aid for airway obstruction, external and internal bleeding, fractures, dislocations and sprains, emergency care for illnesses, poisoning, heatstroke, burns and frostbite, foreign body aspiration, and patient and injured person transportation.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Knows the basic principles of first aid.
  2. They assess the patient/injured person and take the appropriate action.
  3. Knows and performs basic life support procedures.
  4. They can identify and provide first aid for conditions such as bleeding, fractures, sprains, poisoning, and heat injuries.
  5. They can identify situations and events requiring first aid and apply initial intervention.
