Course Objective

The objective is to support effective teaching of general and private information related to human physiology in terms of nursing practice and to teach normal functioning mechanisms of various systems of the human body, organs, tissues and cells and their control methods.

Course Content

Includes basic physiology information required for a nursing student at the undergraduate level to comprehend the deterioration in natural biological function depending on the disease process emerging as a result of diseases in the living organism.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Analyzes excitable tissues, impulse and formation mechanism of action potential; learns contraction mechanism and characteristics occurring within smooth, striated and cardiac muscle.
  2. Comprehends the pathological process emerging in the event of a disease, and comprehends mechanisms of biological events and natural physiological process during healthy state of living structure.
  3. Learns structures and functions of cell and cell membrane; the duties of cell organelles, and the necessary information about cell physiology.
  4. Realizes the importance of homeostatic balance to maintain normal system functions.
  5. Comprehends structure of neurons and synapses and mechanism and characteristics of impulse transmission occurring in these structures.
  6. They will be able to define the functions of the organ systems and organs and their interactions with each other,Define the functions of special cell types, describe the control mechanisms of the systems.
  7. Functions of organ systems and organs and their interactions with each otherDefine the functions of special cell types, describe the control mechanisms of the systems.
  8. Define the functions of special cell types, describe the control mechanisms of the systems.
  9. Gains knowledge about the structure and functioning of the systems
  10. They will be able to define control mechanisms of systemsDefine the functions of special cell types, describe the control mechanisms of the systems.
