Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences · Interior Architecture and Environmental Design · Undergraduate
Course Objective
This is a theoretical course that examines fundamental concepts related to the introduction to architecture. The course covers the basic concepts of architecture; the relationship between the architectural profession and other professional disciplines; the nature and stages of the architectural design process and design problem; and theoretical approaches and techniques related to the design process.
Course Content
The aim is to examine the design theories and methods used in creating a design product, analyze the design process, explore approaches to form-making, and foster student participation by establishing an environment for mutual discussion and exchange of ideas.

Rules
1. Attendance: According to the regulations, a student will receive a "DZ" (absence) and fail the course if they do not attend 30% of the total class hours.
2. Lateness: You are expected not only to arrive in class but also to participate in the class on time. Remember that being late for 3 classes will count as 1 full absence. Lateness is defined as: joining the class after the instructor has taken attendance and after the first 10 minutes of the class.
3. Seeking Help: Asking questions about the course during class or during meeting hours is important for your education so that you can learn the subject in a timely manner. We advise our students to seek help when necessary.
4. Academic Honesty: It is expected that the work that will be the subject of the course grade will be entirely your own effort and work. In cases of unethical situations such as plagiarism or copying, a disciplinary investigation will be opened and you will be subject to the necessary penalties in accordance with the relevant regulations of IZÜ.
The evaluations stated in this syllabus are fixed, and no extra compensatory assessments will be made for the purpose of raising grades.
