Course Objective
To convey to students the basic knowledge and methods regarding Facility (Factory/Workplace) Design, Layout and Planning.
Course Content
Establishment studies. Material movement costs and workplace design. Market Research and demand forecasting methods. Capacity requirement planning. Discrete and continuous production systems design: Product and process-based layout planning. Factory location selection.

- To identify different types of production systems.
- Calculate machine requirements for the desired production rate.
- Determining the location of business establishment.
