END 110 - Computer Aided Technical Drawing

Course Objective

- Teaching of technical drawing principles.
- Gaining three dimensional thinking skills.
- Introducing CAD, 3D Modeling and presentation programs.
- Promote R & D and teamworking on a joint project.

Course Content

- Teaching technical line / drawing language.
- Teaching AutoCad software commands with examples and applications.
- Geometric drawings with AutoCad software, principles of projection, removal of views and sections from two and three dimensional objects.
- To gain the ability of three-dimensional thinking.
- Teaching SketchUp software with examples.
- Strengthening the ability to think in three dimensions with the transition from second to third dimension.
- Getting sections and views in SketchUp's three-dimensional environment.
- Principles of dimensioning in two and three dimensional environments.
- Presenting Photoshop software with examples in order to gain presentation and banner technique.
- As a project of the lesson; designing the objects developed by each student group with AutoCad.
- 3D modeling of projects with SketchUp software.
- Obtaining and combining model prototypes from 3D printer or laser cutting machine.
- And get the posters of projects design with Photoshop.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. 1) Knows technical drawing rules.
  2. 2) Draw perspective picture of an object using other views.
  3. 3) Draws and measures views using perspective view.
  4. 4) Knows and applies methods of sectioning.
  5. 5) Draw using CAD softwares.
