Course Objective

This course is organized to introduce students to fundamental topics in descriptive statistics, probability, sampling, estimation, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing. Computer implementations using widely available statistical software (for example R, Minitab, SAS veya MS Excel) are also within the scope of the course syllabus.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Instrumentalise the fundamentals of statistical methods to analyze and interpret data.
  2. Direct, organise and adapt knowledge and skills on collection, presentation, analysis, and use of data to make intelligent judgments and informed decisions.
  3. Design organisations, products and processes with respect to uncertainty and variation.
  4. Draw inferences about the populations based on the sample data.
  5. Increase critical thinking about how to read and interpret data.
