Course Objective
The objective of this course is to provide an understanding of the theoretical and practical foundations, legal regulations, and Universal Design principles of inclusion in education. It aims to help students gain competence in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) preparation processes, school-family collaboration, positive behavior supports, and differentiated instruction practices. In addition, the course aims to foster the ability to make instructional adaptations for various disability groups, such as intellectual disability, autism, hearing impairment, visual impairment, speech and language disorders, physical disabilities, specific learning disabilities, and giftedness.
Course Content
This course covers the theoretical foundations, legal regulations, and universal design principles of inclusion in education. Individualized Education Plan (IEP) preparation, family counseling, strategies supporting all students, and positive behavior supports are examined. Within the scope of the course, inclusion support models and instructional adaptations for diverse groups—including intellectual disability, autism, hearing impairment, visual impairment, speech and language disorders, chronic illnesses, physical disabilities, specific learning disabilities, and special talents—are explored in detail.

Explanations
Assignment Scope: Students will select from designated books or films themed around inclusion and mainstreaming, and structure their analyses during the preparation process in accordance with the guide questions provided to them.
Presentation and Reporting: The work prepared based on the selected work will be reported and submitted at the end of the term, and evaluated through in-class presentations.
Rules
Course Delivery Method: Classes will be conducted through the delivery of theoretical foundations alongside case studies and group work.
Attendance Obligation: In accordance with university regulations, there is an attendance requirement for theoretical classes, and students are expected to follow the course processes regularly.
Communication Channels: Announcements and notifications regarding the course will be made through official systems (Microsoft Teams-Email), and it is important for students to check their institutional emails regularly.
Originality and Plagiarism: All assignments and reports must be original and comply with academic ethical rules.
