Course Objective

To understand the importance of using instructional technologies in special education.

Course Content

Technology, low-level technology, advanced technology, instructional technology and assistive technology concepts, technologies that vary according to the disability group, technology-supported applications for academic and non-academic skills; use of different technological tools (eg, smart board, desktop, laptop, tablet, smart phone) in special education; applications of technological tools such as smart boards, desktops, laptops, tablets, smart phones in teaching environments, technology integration into teaching activities.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Explains intermediate level assistive technologies and their importance.
  2. Explain high-level assistive technologies and their importance.
  3. Explains the positive and negative aspects of applications.
  4. Explains what needs to be considered in applications to be prepared for individuals with special needs.
  5. Plans teaching with replicated teaching.
  6. Makes teaching with video modeling.
  7. Explain low-level assistive technologies and their importance.
