Course Objective

To inform students about misconceptions about mathematical concepts and to bring solutions to misconceptions.

Course Content

Mathematical error, difficulty, and misconception; misconceptions, misconceptions about mathematical concepts and literature; questioning techniques of secondary school students; producing solutions for misconceptions according to the characteristics of the subject area and individual differences of students.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Explains the concepts of mathematical error, difficulty and misconception.
  2. Explains misconception types.
  3. Lists various mathematical concepts and common misconceptions associated with these concepts in the literature.
  4. Uses the techniques of questioning the secondary school students' thinking processes.
  5. Produces solutions for misconceptions according to the characteristics of subject area and individual differences of students.
