Course Objective

This course aims to determine appropriate teaching methods and techniques to be used in primary mathematics courses based on learning-teaching theories and approaches. In addition, specific teaching methods will be applied.

Course Content

The nature of mathematics and mathematical thinking; the meaning of mathematics teaching and learning; the aim and basic principles of mathematics teaching; history of mathematics teaching; reflections of learning and teaching on mathematics teaching; basic skills in mathematics teaching; in-class application examples; current trends and problems in mathematics teaching; effective mathematics teaching; point of view of social, cultural and economic planning in mathematics teaching.

  2. Applys general teaching methods and techniques to the subject of mathematics
  3. Explains and uses the special teaching methods and techniques to mathematics
  4. Design enrichment and differentiation activities using teaching methods and techniques specific to mathematics.
  5. Follows new approaches in mathematics and produces projects
  6. Prepares and presents sample activities useful in mathematics lessons
