Course Objective

To introduce the field of child psychology with its subfields; To provide knowledge and awareness on issues such as the historical development of the field, relevant theories, different measurement methods used, childhood adaptation and behavior problems, and the place of the child in different contexts.

Course Content

 

Basic concepts, history and methods of child psychology; prenatal development; developmental areas and characteristics of infancy; Developmental areas and characteristics of early childhood; developmental areas and characteristics of late childhood; child within the family structure; child within the school system; childhood adjustment and behavior problems; children with special needs.
