Course Objective

The aim of this course is to ensure that prospective teachers have knowledge and practical skills regarding science education in early childhood.

Course Content

Definition, importance and objectives of science education in early childhood, basic concepts related to science education in early childhood, 21st century skills and their relationship with early childhood science education, science education in the Maarif Model Preschool Education Program (2024), scientific process skills in early childhood (making scientific observations-classification-prediction based on scientific observations, prediction based on scientific data-making operational definitions-performing experimentsmaking scientific ınferences-creating scientific models-using evidence-making scientific ınquiry), methods and techniques used in science education in early childhood, ın-school and out-of-school learning environments in science education in early childhood, science programs used in early childhood education, points to consider when planning science activities appropriate for early childhood, planning, ımplementing and presenting science activities appropriate for early childhood.
