Course Objective
The aim of this course is to enable prospective teachers to evaluate the relationship between children and media within the framework of children's rights, developmental areas, and media literacy; to examine media content for children from an educational and developmental perspective; and to gain knowledge and skills for conscious media use.
Course Content
The concepts of child, media, and childhood; children's rights and media; the effects of media on children's development; children and media literacy; media and violence; children and advertising; children and social media; media use and limits in preschool education; the role and guidance of families in children's media use; and the examination and evaluation of various media products for children (cartoons, animated films, children's magazines, mobile games, and mobile applications).

- Learn how a child-friendly media should be
- Learn child-media program relationship
- Discuss how the child is represented on the media
- Learns the manipulative nature of media on children
- Evaluates the various effects of media on children.
