Course Objective
Students will get acquainted with the basic theoretical models of language and skills and how to apply them to their future students in their language classes. Also students will be able to understand the major issues in language teaching, including the roles and expectations of a language teacher, the characteristics of autonomous learners, factors contributing to effective lesson management, and principles for writing a well-structured lesson plan.
Course Content
The course covers four parts
Major concept in language teaching including teacher and learners responsibilities, classroom management and writing lesson plans
What is involved in vocabualry knowledge and how to improve students vocabulary knowledge
What is involved in gramamr knowledge and how to improve students grammar knowledge
What is involved in reading comprehension and how to teach students reading comprehnsion

Course Learning Outcomes
- Students will learn how words are organized in the brain and how they are retreaived and used
- students will come to know how implicit and explicit knolwedge will be developed and used during communication
- Students will be able to understand the major processes involved in reading comprehension.
- Students will become familiar with the basic responsibilities of a language teacher, including effective use of language, use of the board, encouraging students, providing constructive feedback, and writing a lesson plan.
