Course Objective

An appreciation of Linguistics as a an academic area of research and an understanding of its research methods

Course Content

In Linguistics I the content of the course includes language origins, humans and animal communication, phentics, phonology, word formation and morphology.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. The students will be able to explain fundamental concepts about language and linguistics.
  2. The students will be able to perform a linguistic analysis according to the linguistic function of each component through modern linguistics research methods.
