Course Objective
This course aims at enhancing students' vocabulary knowledge in English, familiarizing students with several techniques for predicting word meaning and developing students' skills to apply these techniques.
Course Content
The relationship between lexical items and structural forms, word formation including prefixes and suffixes, idioms, collocations, slang, euphemisms, neologisms, proverbs and phrasal verbs in spoken and written language.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to express themselves more effectively in the foreign language through rich vocabulary usage.
- Students will be able to predict word meaning by using contextual clues.
