Course Objective
This course, a continuation of the Introduction to Accounting course, explains the accounting procedures specific to companies' balance sheet and income statement items and the operation of accounting information systems.
Course Content
This course provides a comprehensive overview of key accounting principles and practices. It covers inventory accounting, including various costing methods for both ending inventory and cost of goods sold. The course also examines sales accounting, focusing on journal entries for on-account sales, cash collections, and bad debt write-offs. Furthermore, it explores the application of the historical cost principle to long-term assets like property, plant, and equipment (PP&E), natural resources, and intangible assets, including methods for allocating an asset's cost over its useful life (depreciation, depletion, and amortization). Finally, the course explains liability accounting and how companies handle payouts related to liabilities and equity, such as dividends and retained earnings.

Rules
This course follows IZU's attendance policies. The University states that students must be present in 70% of the lectures during the term. University does not accept weddings, funerals, non-emergency illnesses[1] (colds, cases of flu, vertigos, etc.), missing the shuttle in the morning, and having a regular job in or out of the campus as excused absences. Do not bring any medical reports for your illness. Medical reports will not be accepted.
So plan accordingly.
If your attendance score is less than 70% at the end of the term, you will fail the class. In this case, the University will not let you take the final exam. Your letter grade will be DZ.
I will take attendance at each class and upload it to the system directly. Please do not forget that students coming to class more than 15 minutes late will be considered absent. However, please come to class even if you will be marked absent because the information we receive in class is essential. If you leave before the end of the class, you will be marked absent from the class.
Of course, the easiest solution to all of this is not to miss any lectures.
