Course Objective

Voice Training and Diction course provides information about the organs and their functions that have an impact and function in the formation of the voice and speech. this course aims to examine how correct and effective breathing and speech affect communication and expression.

Course Content

Breathing in humans and the mechanism of sound production and dissemination; breathing and voice studies and voice-pale, voice-word connection studies; voice health and protection; breath control in speech; vocalization; knuckling; intonation; emphasis; pause; speech speed and intonation are the main topics of the course. The student learns to correctly apply the techniques related to these subjects on exercises and sample texts at different stages of education. In this course, which is taught practically to understand the place and importance of body language in communication, studies to ensure the importance of movement, the appropriate and effective use of gestures and facial expressions, and correct posture and sitting are also included.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. The Use of Turkish efficiently
  2. The students will gain the ability to make prepared and unprepared speech.
  3. Students will learn to plan and prepare speeches for special occasions.
  4. The students will gain the ability to use their voice according to the rules of diction.
  5. The students will gain the ability to speak in front of the public.
  6. Students understands the phonetic characteristics of Turkish language.
  7. Learns the significance of the art of elocution.
  8. Learns to speak right and good, the significance of sounds, pronunciation, emphases, intonation; performance of stops for meaning and excitement in accordance with rules.
  9. Students will learn how to use diaphragmatic breathing.
  10. Gets aware on the subjects of right breathing, right voice, articulation, pronunciation, intonation, stop, emphasis, flow of words, style, gestures and mimics.
