Course Objective

To have basic knowledge about the relationship between health and economy, health services market, health expenditures, social and private health insurance

Course Content

The content of this course includes basic economics and health economics concepts, supply-demand-market-cost concepts in health services, economic evaluation methods, reimbursement models in health services, health expenditures, social and private health insurance issues.

  1. Will be able to explain basic concepts and issues of health economics.
  2. Describes distinctive features of the health sector from economics perspective.
  3. Explain the supply-demand, supply and demand elasticity and the affecting factors in health services.
  4. Explains the goal and significance of health financing
