Course Objective

It is to examine the thoughts of Muslims on economic activities from the early period to the present day. The intellectual legacy of Muslims regarding economic activities and economic problems will be reviewed. By making comparisons with the economic thoughts of the West and other societies, it will be tried to reveal the similarities and differences between the ideas of Muslims and other societies on economic problems.

Course Content

In this course, an in-depth analysis will be made on the relationship between Islamic thought and economics, the effects of Islamic belief on economic units, and the relations of Islamic economics with mainstream economic thought.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. The economic system approach represents the most comprehensive approach to economic life and relations. For this reason, it is expected that such a course will lead to a very valuable horizon expansion after his studies at the undergraduate level.
  2. Since this course is also comparative, it is expected to stretch this broadening of the horizon beyond national borders and towards a global vision.
  3. Since the history of economic systems is one of the main topics of this course, a temporal horizon extension is expected to be added to the mentioned spatial horizon expansion.
