Dersin Amacı
Kurs, İngilizcede başarılı iletişim için gerekli olan temel beceriler üzerinde çalışacaktır: Yazma, Okuma, Dinleme, Konuşma.
Okuma için kurs, günlük okuma pratiği için metinler üzerinde çalışacaktır, örneğin broşürler, duyurular, web siteleri, gazeteler vb. öğrencinin okumasına yardımcı olmak için tasarlanmıştır.
Yazma için kurs, günlük yazma pratiği içerir, örneğin e-posta ve mektup yazma ve formları doldurma, bu da öğrencinin İngilizcede yapması gereken yazma konusunda yardımcı olacaktır.
Dinleme ve konuşma için kurs, öğrencinin günlük dinleme ve konuşma durumlarında yardımcı olmak için pratik görevler içerir. Ayrıca çeşitli iş ve çalışma durumlarında pratik sağlar. İngilizce iletişim kurarken yapmanız gereken dinleme ve konuşma görevlerinde size yardımcı olmak için tasarlanmıştır.
Ders İçeriği
Bu ders, öğrencilerin bilimsel ve teknik kelime dağarcıklarını zenginleştirmelerini, meslekleri için ihtiyaç duydukları uzmanlık dilini kullanarak İngilizce yazmalarını ve konuşmalarını amaçlamaktadır.

Course Expectations
- Punctual attendance. This is mandatory and forms part of your overall grade. Please contact me prior to any absences or as soon as possible after missing class.
- Please have your reader/readings with you in each class for reference. All assigned texts and additional texts for further reading are available on the Kampüs Bilgi Sistemi.
- Engaging in class discussions and active participation. With everything you read, ask yourself: “What is the author trying to say?” “From what perspective and in what social, historical, philosophical, political context are they writing?”
- Giving a presentation of 15-20 minutes; presentations that are less then 15 minutes might not be counted. Also, every student should distribute a one-page handout of his or her presentation before starting. This includes the main arguments of the author(s), and elaboration of it, including possible criticisms of the author’s arguments.
- In case you want to use PowerPoint, then you need to bring your own PC and prepare it before the lecture starts.
- Reading the presentation from a paper or from PowerPoint is not acceptable.
- Come prepared to class; not coming prepared to class negatively affects your class attendance and participation.
- No laptops and phones in class, (except for the purpose of the presentation) otherwise this will negatively affectyour class attendance and participation.
- Coming 15 minutes late to class means missing the class.
